Financial Aid and AP/Honors Nights Coming in February
The Counseling Department presents two important informational meetings for parents and students. Financial Aid Night will be on Thursday, February 7th at 6:30 pm in the Little Theater. This evening workshop is open to parents of all grade levels, but most importantly senior parents should attend to learn about the different types of financial aid, loans, work study and scholarships available for your students.
AP/Honors Night will held be on Tuesday February 12th at 6:30 p.m. in the Little Theater. Students that are interested in taking any Advanced, Honors or AP course should plan on attending this important meeting with their parents.
Another Courageous Conversation
Please join another Courageous Conversation with the Dublin Unified School District, Part II: Drug Detection Dogs in DUSD. This event will take place on 2/13 at 6:30 PM in the Wells Middle School Pavilion 6800 Penn Drive.
ACADEMIC D BLOCK APPLICATION DUE
The Academic D Block application period is February 1-12. Applications are due by 12:30 pm on February 12th. The applicants will be using grades from Fall Semester 1 on this application.
Applications are available on the DHS website and in the Counseling Office during the application period dates. Students should apply after each semester completed at DHS with a 3.5 GPA or above (see application for all criteria). 9th Annual Golf Tournament and Dinner – May 3, 2013
Please join us on Friday, May 3, for the 9th Annual Golf Tournament and Dinner to benefit Dublin High School Athletic Boosters. The Golf Tournament will return to the fun and friendly San Ramon Golf Club. Participation Fees include golf, cart, golf shirt, and dinner for the same low price of $150 per player. Gather a foursome for the discounted price of $550. Winners will receive cash prizes this year!
If you are not a golfer, you can still join the party at the Golf Tournament Cinco De Mayo Dinner on Friday, May 3, 2012 at the Dublin Shannon Center! Margaritas and Mexican food will be plentiful while bidding takes place at the silent auction. Dinner tickets will be $35 for a delicious dinner catered by New Mecca Cafe. You haven’t REALLY tasted Mexican food until you’ve tried Mexican food prepared by New Mecca Cafe! Gather your friends to reserve a table and enjoy a great night out to support all of our student-athletes. Reservation information will follow in the next few weeks.

FREE COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP SEMINAR!
Attention students and parents: We want to invite you to a free paying-for-college seminar featuring Ben Kaplan, the best-selling author of How to Go to College Almost for Free and founder of CityofCollegeDreams.org.

Ben’s free seminar for Bay Area families will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 13, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Dublin High School’s Student Union.

Pricing change for Regal Movie Tickets
The price of Regal movie tickets are going up to $8 starting February 1st. Movie tickets are on sale every Friday in front of Student Activities during lunch. Ticket prices are now $8 per ticket for non-pass restricted movies.
Please contact Cyber Stacey at dublinhighpfso@dublinhighpfso.com or call Yvonne at 828-7060 to make arrangements if you want to buy in bulk or cannot make it to DHS at lunch time. This fundraiser benefits the Class of 2014.
ATTENTION SENIOR PARENTS
Beginning February 1, the package price of senior events increases to $205. You can now purchase each event individually — Senior Banquet ($55); Senior Picnic ($65), and Grad Night ($85). Checks can be made payable to: DHS Class of 2013 Grad Night. You can drop off payment to Student Activities or pay using a credit card by visiting the PFSO store at http://www.dublinhighpfso.com
ATTENTION JUNIOR PARENTS
Junior Prom tickets are now on sale in Student Activities. The presale ticket price is $75 includes dinner, beverages and dancing.
The prom will take place on Saturday, March 23rd. It is going to be held at the beautiful Canyonview in San Ramon. Buy your tickets early and save. Prices will go up to $85 for our late birds in March.

Scholarships
New scholarships are posted in the Career Center and on the Career Center website almost daily. Please continue to browse the listings to find a fit. There are also other scholarship match databases listed on the Career Center website.
Career Speaker Bureau
On February 19th, the Career Center will host the next lunchtime career speaker. Fingers crossed that the next speaker will be from the Digital Arts area. Stay tuned for the final announcement by checking the calendar on the Career Center website. Students are invited to bring their lunch to the Career Center and learn about possible career paths.
College Presentations

We will also have a presentation from Cal State East Bay and Grand Canyon University in late February. The exact dates have not been finalized so please check the Career Center website for more details.

Catalyst SAT Bootcamp at Dublin High School
Dublin High School is proud to partner with Catalyst for an SAT Bootcamp, a one-weekend seminar that guarantees students march into the SAT with go-to strategies for every single question they’re going to face. Catalyst’s SAT Bootcamp is the only prep class designed by instructors who have earned more than 20 perfect scores on the actual SAT. Selected topics include:
- How to crack math questions that stump more than 90% of test-takers
- How to craft a perfect score SAT essay, no matter what question the SAT asks
- How to zoom in on key information within long reading passages that cause most students to run out of time
- How to avoid falling for the SAT’s most deceptive trap answers
DATE, TIME & LOCATION
9am-1pm on Saturday, March 2nd and Sunday, March 3rd at Dublin High School.
COST Just $165 per student for the entire weekend and course materials.
