Here is your Dublin High PFSO Update for 10-13-2010. The most recent Dublin High Gael Gazette is available here.
- Parent Chaperones are still needed for the Homecoming Dance on Saturday night. If you are available form 7:00p.m.-11:00p.m. please contact Mr. Sbranti and sbrantitimothy@dublin.k12.ca.us and remember to put DPRIDE in the subject line.
- Block D applications are being accepted through this Friday, October 15 and must be turned in, completed, with an attached report card or transcript copy before 12:30 in the counseling office.
- The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is taking place this Thursday at 6:00p.m. There will be a couple of short speeches and there will also be a Free Throw Competition and Demonstrations by the Boys and Girls Varsity Basketball teams. You will be able to tour the whole facility!
- Boosters is also having a BBQ including both tri-tip sandwiches and hotdogs. This might be a great way to enjoy the ribbon cutting, have some dinner and then hang out at school until the skit rally.
- The Homecoming Skit Rally will take place in the old gym starting at 8:00 p.m. Admission is free for all DHS students, but you must bring your ID Card. The price for adults is $5, and students in 8th grade or younger can get in for $3 as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
- Remember that Friday is an early release day. Kids will be dismissed at 2:10p.m. in preparation for the Homecoming Parade and Carnival.
- This year’s Homecoming Parade will once again be taking place down Village Parkway at 3:45 p.m. It will begin from the Parkway Baptist Church, which is located in front of Los Pericos. The parade will head down Village Parkway towards DHS, ending in the Staff Parking Lot near the Dublin Swim Center.
- The Carnival will take place immediately following the parade and will go until the start of the varsity football game at 7:00. This year’s event will be bigger than ever, with inflatables, games, contests, entertainment, food, and much more. The cost is $3 with a DHS ASB sticker and $5 for everyone else. It will take place on the practice field behind the football stadium.
Two things you might want to be on the look out for if you go to the Homecoming football game are:
- Raise Your Class” Gala tickets will be on sale where you see the Senior Bake Sale. Just make sure you bring your check book! (see below for more info)
- Linda Hunt will be collecting money as part of the Funds 4 Books campaign. She will take cash donations or checks. (see below for more info)

Please specify if you would like to be seated with a particular group. If you have any questions, you can reply to Cyber Stacey or contact dhsfundraising@yahoo.com.
- Tables are reserved in groups of 10, so get a group of friends together and purchase your table now!
- If you cannot attend the Raise Your Class Gala there are some other ways you can help:
- We are accepting donations for our auctions. You can either donate an item or make a monetary donation and we will purchase something on your behalf. There have to be a lot of people at DHS that have connections to some great auction items and we just need you to step up for this great cause.
- You can purchase a ticket and donate it to a DHS staff member to enjoy.
- You can make a $25 contribution and become a “Friend with Class” and you will be acknowledged in our program.
- Your business can sponor our event. Please email back for a copy of our sponsorship packages.
- The Library is having a fund raiser called Funds 4 Books. 100% of the donations will go to the library to purchase new books. Just go to the web page http://www.Funds4Books.com and enter the pin code: a60b The fund raiser will end October 19th. You can donate on line or by check. Please make checks out to Funds4Books.com. If you have questions, please contact Linda Hunt at 925.833.3300 x7017.
- Linda reports that this fundraiser has stalled at $190. The goal is to raise $1,000. The library staff reallly appreciates the donations and support. Every dollar helps!
Two websites that you might want to check out frequently (you can also sign up for them or follow them on Facebook) are:
- www.onedublin.org which gives a lot of very informative information regarding Dublin High and the entire Dublin Unified School District.
- The other is www.dublinpatch.com which is covering a lot of things going on at DHS. You will also notice that some of the contributing authors are both DHS students and some DHS parents.
Thanks,
Cyber Stacey – Dublin High PFSO
