Financial Aid and AP/Honors Nights Coming in February

Financial Aid Night will be on Wednesday, February 2nd at 6:30 pm in the Little Theater. This evening workshop is open to all grade levels parents, but most importantly senior parents should attend to learn about the different types of financial aid, loans, work study and scholarships available for your students.

AP/Honors Night will held be on Wednesday February 16th at 6:30 p.m. in the Little Theater.  Students that are interested in taking any Advanced, Honors or AP course should plan on attending this important meeting with their parents.

Free After School Peer Tutoring Coming Soon

DHS will have PEER TUTORING each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3-4p.m. beginning on Tuesday, February 15th, in the Career Center.  It is free and students can get help in all subject areas!

Help for Students to Handle Stree

In response to concerns regarding our students’ stress levels, the counseling department is holding three lunchtime sessions for our kids in the Career Center:

  • February 9:  How to Handle Stress
  • February 16:  Beating Test Anxiety
  • February 23:  Positive Self-Care

Career Center to Hold College and Job Workshops

There will be lunch time workshops available for students in the Career Center each month.  For February:

  • February 2: Scholarship Searches
  • February 17: Career Trends- Where will jobs be in the future?

7th Annual Golf Tournament and Dinner – May 6

Friday, May 6 will be the 7th Annual Golf Tournament and Dinner to benefit Dublin High School Athletic Boosters. The Golf Tournament will return to the fun and friendly San Ramon Golf Club. Participation Fees include golf, cart, golf shirt, and dinner for the same price as last year: $150 per player. This year will feature more contests – some for women only – with bigger cash prizes!

If you are not a golfer, you can still join the party at the Golf Tournament Cinco De Mayo Dinner on Friday, May 6, 2011 at the Dublin Shannon Center! Margaritas and fajitas will be plentiful while bidding takes place at the silent auction. Plus we’ll have some great wines from local wineries! Dinner tickets will be $35 for grilled steak and chicken fajitas with bell peppers and onions, salad, tortillas, chips, salsa, rice, and beans. Gather your friends to reserve a table and enjoy a great night out!

Fundraisers Galore

  • Monday, Feb. 7 and Tuesday, Feb. 8 at Dickey’s BBQ in Pleasanton you can help support Academic Awards. This is for dine in or take out.  Look for a flier coming soon from Cyber Stacey.
  • Class of 2014 is having a Spa-Tacular night on Friday 2/25 from 4-7p.m. at Cachet Salon.  Enjoy a variety of treatments plus wine and appetizers all for $20.  Space is limited, please email
  • Class of 2011 is selling Valentine’s Day Cookie Lollipops for $3.  Order at school Mon./Wed./Fri at lunch in the commons or Tues./Thurs. mornings in the commons.  Presale only through Fri. 2/4.  Pick up on Valentine’s Day morning.
  • Save the date- Class of 2012 is having a Grease Sing-Along on Sat. 3/26 at 7p.m. in the Little Theatre.  $10 for adults, $7 for students.  Tickets on sale at DHS at lunchtime on Fridays starting 3/4 or email Shari Jackman at to make reservations.  Seating is limited so RSVP soon!
  • Regal movie tickets will be on sale most every Friday directly across from old Student Activities at lunch. Ticket prices are $7.50 per ticket for non pass restricted movies.

Parents who want to buy tickets in bulk can contact Yvonne Nickles at to make arrangements. This fundraiser benefits the Class of 2011.

Attention Senior Parents

  • Senior Banquet, Picnic, and Grad Night tickets are on sale now.  Purchase all three for $190 or buy individually: Senior Picnic $50, Grad Night $85 and Senior Banquet $55 (for banquet remember to specify Chicken or Vegetarian Meal and Pajama Bottom size)  Checks payable for DHS Class of 2011 Grad Night.  Checks can be mailed to Deb Lloyd 10854 Inspiration Circle, Dublin, CA 94568
  • Memory Board Photo Collages are due by 4/5.  Senior parents please look for a separate email coming soon that has more collage options.
  • Baccalaureate Photos are due by 5/1.  Please email photos to Joe Zummo at Please send a baby picture (birth-5 years) and a senior picture.  Also send in group shots of DHS students in their younger days.

Pertussis Immunization Reminder

Pertussis is widespread.  If your child 7 years and older has not yet received the “Tdap” pertussis booster shot, please contact your doctor or health department.  Getting a booster shot now will protect your child against the ongoing threat of pertussis and meet a new school requirement that begins in the 2011-12 school year (California law – Assembly Bill 354).

Adults are also advised to get a pertussis booster shot, if they haven’t already, to protect themselves, their families, and their students.
