Welcome Back to the 2012-13 School Year!

I’m thrilled to return as president of the PFSO and I just wanted to say Thank You for our many successes in the past few months.

Thank you to all who worked early in the summer in our fireworks booths. It was a crazy (and profitable) 10 days, and we couldn’t have done it without all the folks who pitched in!

Thank you to all who volunteered to work at registration. Your help was absolutely crucial to getting our school year off to a great start. And last by not least, thank you to all who made donations to the PFSO and to your class accounts.

We are moving forward in the second year of a new funding model that allows us to contribute more to filling campus needs. We have again implemented a line-item budget that provides funds to every department and we hope to have a big role in closing budget gaps as the year goes on. Our ability to do that is directly related to your generosity.

And we are working more closely than ever with the two other major parent groups at DHS – the Athletic Boosters and the Band Boosters. We have all joined in on the new Bond Rewards fundraiser and will be sharing the proceeds that come from your online shopping using the new site! We again plan to share the profits from a Food Truck fundraising night (coming later this year) and are meeting regularly to determine how we can meet the needs of all DHS students.

If you are new to Dublin High, we want to let you know about a great opportunity to get the lay of Gael-land!

We will present Dublin High 101 before our regular PFSO meeting on Monday, Sept. 24. We will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the new Student Union and we would love to see you there! It’s our goal to give you great information about the parent groups that provide such important support on our campus.

Looking forward to getting started!

Michelle McDonald- PFSO President

There will also be silent, live, and dessert auctions plus lots of great raffle items!

This event is crucial to PFSO as it provides much of the monetary support needed to fund our programs and help all the departments at Dublin High. A portion of the proceeds also benefits all four classes at Dublin High to help fund their safe and sober Grad nights.

Tickets are on sale now for $55 per person. To purchase tickets online, you can visit www.dublinhighpfso.com and click on the PFSO Store tab. You can also mail a check made out to Dublin High PFSO and also include a self-addressed stamped envelope to:

Dublin High Homecoming 2012 is Right Around the Corner!

The theme for this year’s homecoming activities is Cereal. Classes have been choosing their favorite Cereals and will be busy making the most of their themes for all the homecoming events.

The homecoming parade, carnival, and football game will take place on Friday, October 12th. The homecoming dance will be the next day, Saturday, October 13th.

Sometime this month you will receive a special update with all the important information regarding our homecoming events.

Volunteers Needed and Help Wanted!

The organizers of the “RAISE YOUR CLASS” fundraiser are hoping the parent community at DHS will get involved in our fundraising efforts.

It is more important than ever that this PFSO-sponsored event is successful.

If you have connections to restaurants, services, golf courses, sports memorabilia, if you have season tickets to a sporting event and can donate a pair for one game or if your family simply wants to purchase an item to be used in our auctions…we want to hear from you!

You can also sponsor our event with a monetary contribution in exchange for advertising. Advertise in our program and also receive a plug in our newsletter that goes out to over 1700 email addresses! Sponsoring a full-page ad for $350, ½ page for $250 or ¼ page for $200.

We are also looking for “Friends with Class”. With a $25 donation to our event, your family will be mentioned in our event program.

If you can help in any of the above mentioned ways, please email DHSfundraising@yahoo.com or call Yvonne at 828-7060 or Stacey at 833-0884.

Remember these donations are tax deductible.
