Dublin High PFSO Update 8-29-2011

Below are updates from the Dublin High PFSO (prior updates available here):

  • The Rockin’ Jump fundraiser is this Thursday night, September 1st from 8:00p.m. to 11:00p.m.(remember Friday the kids do not have school) Cost is $15…$5 going back to DHS. Students do not need to bring in a flier they just need to show their student body id card. If your child has never been to RockinJump before, you will need to download the waiver and print it out to bring to the event. Go to http://www.rockinjump.com  and you will see on the homepage a place to click to download the waiver. If your child has already been there and turned in a waiver, your waiver is on file and you do not need to fill out another.
  • Tassajara Prep Charter High School: Please mark your calendars! The Dublin School Board of Trustees has called a special meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the Dublin High School Library to take public input on the resubmission of the Tassajara Prep Charter Petition. If you are interested in speaking on the issue of a charter high school in Dublin, you should plan to attend the meeting. As representatives of your PFSO, we will be there and we would like to see a large gathering in support of Dublin High School on this evening. You can speak or you can listen. But let’s support Dublin High as a community! The Board of Trustees will not be making a decision on the petition at this meeting, but this is a required public hearing as part of the charter process. Read more…
  • People have been asking about how to purchase tickets for our “Raise Your Class Gaela” on Saturday 11/5 at the San Ramon Golf Clulb so I have attached the form.  We are in the process of opening up an online store so that you may purchase tickets online.  I will keep you posted when that option is up and running. If you would rather, you can write a check and mail it to the PFSO Box listed on the order form or tickets will be sold on Fridays where we sell movie tickets in front of Student Activities.
    • Remember there are 10 people to a table so gather friends, plan a girls night out, whatever suits your fancy.  If you cannot attend yourself, you may want to purchase a ticket to donate to a staff member.
    • It is more important than ever that this PFSO sponsored event is successful.  The PFSO has approved a budget which promises to give each department at DHS at least $500 to help purchase much needed supplies and materials to better instruct our children.  All the profits from Raise Your Class go toward this PFSO cause as well as contributing money to each current class at DHS to support their Safe and Sober Grad Night event.
  • If you are able to donate an auction item, know a business that would like to donate or sponsor our event, please reply back to this email and I can send our donation and/or sponsor letter.  For a $25 donation, your family can also be one of our “Friends with Class” and will be listed in our event program.

Please continue to email me back if you haven’t already and your student is an athlete at DHS.  I need to know their name and what sport(s) they play.
