This course surveys the basic psychological concepts underlying human and animal behavior in such areas as learning, motivation, perception, personality, social behavior, workings of the mind/body, the life span, adjustment/breakdown, and human relations. Students will also learn why psychology is important and how it can be applied to solving everyday problems. Thinking and discussion skills is emphasized through the use of class activities, projects, discussions, lectures, and videos in order to help the student understand herself/himself and other people.
