READ 180 is a full-year course designed to supplement reading and writing skills. This course prepares students for the broad demands of high school reading and writing in English, math, science, and social studies. It also prepares students to pass the California High School Exit Exam, which is required to graduate from high school. The format of the course involves team reading practice with teacher and teacher aide oversight, interactive computer work to systematically improve comprehension, silent reading of highly engaging books, and essay writing instruction.
