Open Call for Poetry: City of Dublin Poetry Walk for National Poetry Month (April 2022)
DUBLIN, CA–The City of Dublin and Viewless Wings, led by Dublin Poet Laureate James Morehead, are collaborating on the City of Dublin’s first Poetry Walk during National Poetry Month (April 1-30). Modeled after a similar event in Rutland, VT, Dublin’s Poetry Walk will feature poetry submitted by poets around the world displayed in local business storefronts. Residents and visitors will be able to download or access online a Poetry Walk Passport with a map to visit all participating businesses.
Poets from around the world are invited to submit their original work with the opportunity to be showcased in a Dublin storefront for the month of April. A select collection of submitted poems will also be featured on ViewlessWings.com and the Viewless Wings Poetry Podcast. All poems must be submitted (for free) via Submittable (details here).
CIty of Dublin residents and visitors will be able to download a Poetry Walk Passport (or access online) with a map of participating businesses and selected poets. Viewless Wings will provide selected businesses will have a high quality print of a selected poem for display in their storefront. All poems will be curated for quality and content suitable for public display. Viewless Wings and the City of Dublin will be creating awareness of the event through social media and other channels.

The City of Dublin recently celebrated its 40th Anniversary with a new poem written and recited by Morehead. Throughout the year multiple 40th Anniversary events are being planned.
