Inaugural Poetry and Pizza Open Mic to be Held at Patxi’s Pizza (Dublin)

DUBLIN, CA–In his first event as Dublin, California’s new Poet Laureate, James Morehead is teaming up with Patxi’s Pizza (Dublin) for the inaugural Poetry and Pizza Open Mic, to take place on Wednesday, Aug 18 6pm – 8pm, with the intent of creating a monthly space for East Bay poets to share their original work. The free event will be hosted by Morehead, feature local poets (adults and students, sign-up details below) including Poet Laureates from the Tri-Valley area.

Poetry open mics are a wonderful opportunity for local poets to share their spoken word creations. For the audience it’s a chance for inspiring entertainment, and at this event, delicious pizza too. I’m looking forward to welcoming East Bay poets back on stage in front of a live audience after 18 months of virtual events.

The Poetry and Pizza Open Mic is hosted by City of Dublin Poet Laureate James Morehead (author of canvas), Viewless Wings Press, and Patxi’s Pizza (Dublin).

Note: All poets agree to be family friendly to respect the public venue. Each poet will have 3 minutes, and time permitting will have two opportunities to perform.
