TEDxEmeraldGlenPark 2019: Jeff Parrett on Living a Value Based Life

DUBLIN, CA–Our theme for this year’s TEDxEmeraldGlenPark event is ‘What if?’. What if we approach every problem from the core of our values? At TEDxEmeraldGlenPark2019 Jeff Parrett will take us on a journey that explores the fundamental relationship of money and personal values and its impact of our lives. He will challenge the status quo and the way we perceive the material as a validation for accomplishments and personal achievements. His inspiring vision will shift the perspective to a much higher level of conscience where the future of society is grounded on intention, values and impact rather than money.

Jeff Parrett has a 30+ year career in technology as a software engineer. He saw the industry go from punch cards to the cloud. After retiring in 2013 he founded The Rising Foundation, an organization with a mission to support social entrepreneurs in addressing society’s greatest challenges. Jeff will examine the traditional role of money and values through the prism of aligned technology and his lifelong experience as an engineer.

He will share insights on how companies can leverage basic core values as pillars to engage and build lasting relationships with employees. Jeff’s story will challenge you to seek creative ways to engage technology as alternatives to influence behavior. The engineer will demonstrate how being aligned with personal and team values can foster a new behavior and lead to much greater outcomes.

The programs that Jeff ignited in his company are now being carried on at even a greater scale and while he has retired from that company, he has now taking these same principles to identify the core values of his private foundation whose mission is “cooperating for a better tomorrow.” It’s truly inspiring and you wouldn’t want to miss this!

Jeff will dive into the dynamics of shifting perspective to accumulate value driven wealth. His unique view on how the different reward systems affect our behavior. The current challenges we’re facing as a planet can no longer be addressed with ‘traditional’ values, approaches and behavior. It’s our responsibility to adopt a better system where we can achieve much more greatness as a whole. Around the world, there are some great example of such societal systems and Jeff shares the details of and how they work.
