Dublin School District and Dublin Teachers Association Reach Tentative Agreement

December 7, 2017
DUBLIN, CA–After 18 months without a contract, work-to-rule and protests the Dublin Unified School District and the Dublin Teachers Association, with the help of a state-appointed mediator, have reached a tentative agreement to prevent a strike. The following statement was released by DUSD and DTA earlier this evening:
“Leaders of Dublin’s school district and of the Dublin Teachers Association have agreed to seek approval of the Mediator’s Recommended Agreement that would resolve bargaining for two years (2016/2017 and 2017/2018) and bring an end to lengthy contract talks.

“The recommended agreement was put forward by a state-appointed mediator during the course of today’s meeting between the two sides. The recommended agreement includes a pay raise for each of the two years.
“Dublin Unified representatives will convey the mediator’s recommended agreement to the School Board on December 12, assuming DTA members in the district have ratified and approved the agreement December 11th.
“We are grateful to the mediator for his work to bring the negotiating parties together, and for developing this compromise mediator’s recommended agreement. Both parties have agreed that the mediated negotiations are confidential. We will share more information when we are permitted to do so.”
