Dublin High Senior (and Drama Club President) – “I’m ready for college”
Dublin High Senior and Drama Club President James Sievers spoke recently at a Dublin City Council meeting about his experiences at Dublin High. Mr. Sievers spoke about his positive experiences at Dublin High and how Dublin High has prepared him for the challenge of college.
On graduation, Mr. Sievers will have completed 7 Advanced Placement (AP) courses and has applied to several private colleges in Southern California. Mr. Sievers also spoke about his experiences as part of the Dublin High Drama Club. He is currently serving as Drama Club President, is directing fellow students in a winter production one-act play, and earned a lead role (Benedick in Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing“). In 2009, 95% of Dublin High grads reported attending college.
Dublin High offers a diverse experience to prepare Dublin high school students for college. Mr. Sievers also spoke of the choice offered to students by Dublin High.
- Academic Choice: Dublin High offers 21 Advanced Placement, Advanced and Honors class options for students as well as 3 diploma options including the recently approved Advanced Scholars Diploma.
- Performing Arts Choice: 330+ students participate in band, choir, theater and visual arts programs.
- Athletic Choice: 650+ students participate in 22 teams covering multiple skill levels.
- Extracurricular Choice: Dublin High offers 35 clubs to enrich student life.
