This Social Studies elective will provide 9th grade students with critical thinking skills as they explore a general introduction to the Social Sciences including geography, psychology, anthropology, sociology, political science, economics, and current events.  Additionally, this course will emphasize the academic skills necessary for success in high school and beyond including note-taking, outlining, library and internet research, and discerning fact from opinion and hype.  The emphasis on skill development will culminate in a critical thinking research project.
