READING SKILLS FOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT

Prerequisite:                                    Referral by classroom teacher, counselor

Graduation:                                     Fulfills elective requirement

This class develops reading and literacy skills including inference, questioning and annotation of various texts with the goal of increasing comprehension and reaching a deeper understanding of the texts. Students read from a variety of sources, including newspapers, literature, and textbooks from various disciplines to build skills to succeed in all high school courses, including math, science, and social studies.
