Important Parent Events: Fallon Middle School and Dublin High School Academic Planning

Over the next two months, the Dublin High School and Fallon Middle School Counseling Departments will be hosting important informational meetings about programs and opportunities at Dublin High School.  The district counselors will be covering high school graduation requirements, the three new diploma programs, the “Six-Year Plan,” Career Pathways, and much more.  Don’t miss your opportunity to become informed of the multiple options and levels of rigor waiting for your child at Dublin High School!

February 17: Fallon Middle School 8th grade Classroom Guidance “Educational Planning”

Mrs. Zummo will visit 8th grade classrooms to provide students with a review of Dublin High School graduation and University of California & California State University entrance requirements.  Students will preview the new board-approved DHS diploma options and “Career Pathway” opportunities available.  Students will complete a “Six-Year Plan” of courses completed at middle school and anticipated for high school.

February 18: Dublin High School 8th Grade Parent Night 6:30pm @ Dublin High

Dublin High administration and counselors will provide parents with an introduction to high school life at DHS highlighting the academic, athletic and enrichment opportunities.  A review of the registration process and new diploma options will also be presented.  Department chairs, counselors, and administrators will be available to discuss class offerings and to answer your questions.

DATE CHANGE February 24: Middle School Student and Parent Informational Night “New DHS Diploma Program” 6:30pm @ Dublin High

Dublin High administration and counselors will provide all middle school students and parents with an introduction to the new board-approved Diploma Program for DHS students.  Three diploma options are available beginning with the class of 2012: standard high school diploma, Diploma with Distinction, and the Advanced Scholar Diploma.

March 2 and 5: Fallon Middle School 8th grade Classroom Guidance “Freshman Registration”

Dublin High counselors visit 8th grade classrooms to begin freshman registration.  Students will review DHS graduation requirements, academic program, and elective course offerings.  DHS counselors return to review placement recommendations and collect parent-signed registration forms to begin scheduling for next school year.

March 4-12: Fallon Middle School Classroom Guidance for 6th and 7th grade “Elective Registration and Educational Planning”

Mrs. Zummo will visit 6th and 7th grade CORE classrooms to provide students with their middle school transcript, individual STAR report, and elective information for next school year.  Plus, 6th graders will receive an introduction (and 7th graders a review) of Dublin High School graduation and University of California & California State University entrance requirements.  Students will preview the new board-approved DHS diploma options and “Career Pathway” opportunities available.  Students will complete a “Six-Year Plan” of courses to be completed at middle school and anticipated for high school.

March 10: Fallon Middle School Parent Night “Elective Registration and Educational Planning” 6:30pm @ Fallon

Mrs. Zummo and DHS counselors will present middle school parents with elective information for next school year; plus, parents will receive an introduction (or review) of Dublin High School graduation and University of California & California State University entrance requirements.  Parents will preview the new board-approved DHS diploma options and “Career Pathway” opportunities available.  Parents will preview “Six-Year Plan” of courses to be completed at middle school and anticipated for high school.

March 19th: FMS Elective Registration forms due to FMS office

6th and 7th grade elective registration forms are due to Mrs. Cornell in the main office.  Students who return forms after March 19th due date may not receive first choice.  Please return completed forms on time!
