A Note from the PFSO

At our last PFSO meeting, those in attendance voted to make some significant changes to the distribution of our funding at Dublin High.  We have voted to direct a larger percentage of fundraising efforts into the PFSO general fund in order to provide more direct support to on-campus needs.

As the budget picture grows bleaker, we know that as a parent group we will be called upon to help more and more.  We want to ensure that we have the financial means to do so.

Our classes will continue to receive PFSO support as they raise money for senior year events and celebrations such as Grad Night.

Since reconfiguring our funding model, the PFSO has voted to donate 20 copies of a reading book, which totals $166.00 to an English class and voted on providing $125.00 to a tutoring program for Geometry students.  The money will buy supplies, prizes and gifts.

We will be looking at more funding requests from the staff and administration as the New Year begins.  We appreciate the generosity that all our families have shown for our efforts throughout the years and we look forward to pitching in!

Save the Date

Financial Aid Night will be on Wednesday, February 2nd at 6:30 pm in the Little Theater. This evening workshop is open to all grade levels parents, but most importantly senior parents should attend to learn about the different types of financial aid, loans, work study and scholarships available for your students.

  • Please remember that Spring Athletes need to turn in the athletic packet including the physical form signed off by a physician.  If your child doesn’t have a physician, there is a Sports Physical night on January 24th from 6-7p.m. at Tri-Valley Orthopedic Surgery Center.  Cyber Stacey will send out a flier when this gets closer.

Pertussis Immunization Reminder

Pertussis is widespread.  If your child 7 years and older has not yet received the “Tdap” pertussis booster shot, please contact your doctor or health department.  Getting a booster shot now will protect your child against the ongoing threat of pertussis and meet a new school requirement that begins in the 2011-12 school year (California law – Assembly Bill 354).

Adults are also advised to get a pertussis booster shot, if they haven’t already, to protect themselves, their families, and their students.

For questions please contact Christi Slofkosky, Health Clerk at DHS at 833-3300 ext. 7015 or email slofkoskychristi@dublin.k12.ca.us
