Dublin High Counseling Department News

PSAT results will be distributed on Wednesday, January 25th at 6:30 pm in the Little Theater. Students and parents will also receive a brief presentation on how to use the results to prepare for the SATs this Spring.

If your student is unable to attend the PSAT result night, they can pick up their results after the 25th in the counseling office.

Save the Date – Financial Aid Night will be on Wednesday, February 1st at 6:30 pm in the Little Theater. This evening workshop is open to all grade-levels parents, but most importantly senior parents should attend to learn about the different types of financial aid, loans, work-study and scholarships available for your students.

Coffee with Dublin High Principal Carol Shimizu

Please join Principal Carol Shimizu for coffee on Friday, January 13th at 9:00 a.m. in the Administration building conference room. Ms. Shimizu would like to extend the invitation to any middle school parents who would like to attend.

Parents are encouraged to bring their questions and comments. If there is an interest in seeing the facilities, Ms. Shimizu would be happy to incorporate a short tour into the meeting time.

Dublin High Sadie Hawkins Dance Update

The Sadie Hawkins dance has been pushed back one week and will take place on Friday, February 17.

Dublin High Fundraising

Regal movie tickets will be on sale every Friday in front of Student during lunch. Ticket prices are $7.50 per ticket for non pass restricted movies.

Please contact Cyber Stacey at dublinhighpfso@dublinhighpfso.com or call Yvonne at 828-7060 or Stacey at 833-0884 to make arrangements if you want to buy in bulk or cannot make it to DHS at lunch time.

This fundraiser benefits the Class of 2014.

The Dublin High Cheerleading Team and Vito’s Express have teamed up to support the DHS Cheerleading program.

Dublin High Class of 2012 Pre-sale Pack

The Class of 2012 Pre-sale Pack is here. Purchase for Senior Banquet, Senior Picnic, and Grad Night all for $185. The pre-sale price will be available for the pack until 1/31/12. Prices on these events will go up after the pre-sale time.

Payment can be made by check ( payable to DHS Class of 2012) or online with a credit card at http://www.dublinhighpfso.com and click on the PFSO store button.

Dublin High Drama Club Student-Directed One Acts

This showcase features various plays that are chosen, cast, and directed by a handful of student directors. This year includes six one-act plays (with a diverse mix of comedies and dramas) and two musical numbers! The one acts and their directors are as follows:

  • “Untitled Opening Number” and “Nine People’s favorite Thing” from Title of Show- Chris Harral
  • “Her Heart” from Almost, Maine- Nicole Hamre
  • The Office- Emily Morehead
  • The Man Who Couldn’t Dance- Ryan McRee
  • A Whole House Full of Babies- Kristyn Lue
  • Night Visits- Nate Bennett
  • Variations on the Death of Trotsky- Sarah Finn

UC Irvine – Become an Anteater for a Day!

What is the Stay-Over Program?

The UC Irvine Stay-Over Program offers high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to experience college life by “shadowing” a college student for a day (and night).

How do you participate?

Schedule a one-night visit, Monday through Thursday during the following sessions:

  • Session 1: January 18-March 7 (excluding Jan 16 and Feb 20)
  • Session 2: April 4-April 25

If you are curious about the creative worlds of fashion, business, and design, then check out 3 Days of Fashion

Experience 3 days if creative and inspiration-filled days you’ll take workshops like Draping the Dress where you’ll create a three-dimensional design on a fitting form; Concept to Consumer which focuses on design and merchandising; and Creating a Promotional Campaign, where you’ll work on a photo shoot and a special event. Learn step-by-step how to sketch the nine-head fashion figure. Work with other students from all over the world who share your passion for this industry.
