Boosters Looks to Patch $80,000 Budget Shortfall

Due to severe budget cuts at the statewide level, the Dublin Unified School District has asked the DHS Athletics Department to fill an $80,000 budget deficit this school year. Support Our Athletes – the eScrip Way!

Do you know that the Athletic Boosters could earn THOUSANDS for our athletes without any extra fundraising? It is as simple as registering your family (relatives and neighbors, too) in free eScrip rebate programs. Major supermarkets, like Safeway, and businesses donate 2-4% of all purchases back to the Athletic Boosters. Simply go to http://www.eScrip.com and register your Safeway Club Card and other credit cards, and choose the “Dublin High Athletic Boosters” as your beneficiary. Read more…

Sacramento Trip Planned to Fight Proposed Charter High School

On Wednesday, April 6, the State of California Dept. of Education plans to review the application for Tassajara Preparatory High School (TPHS), a proposed charter school in Dublin. Last spring, both the DUSD and the Alameda County Office of Education denied the proposal for this new high school, saying that the petition “failed to meet the required standard under charter school law, and does not present a sound educational program.” The founders of TPHS have appealed the county’s decision by sending their request to the State. The Dublin High Athletic Boosters’ board does not support the proposed charter school, as TPHS will likely drain funding that would support quality programs at DHS, including AP classes, the arts, and athletics. Look for more information about a planned trip to Sacramento on April 6 to show your support of Dublin High School! Read more…
