Homecoming Parade 2011 Senior Float
Dublin High School’s Homecoming is an annual opportunity for students to learn real world skills in collaboration, problem-solving, time management and team-building, while having fun and unleashing their creativity. The event involves students from across Dublin, including elementary and middle school students that participate in the parade and carnival, along with Dublin High alumni and the community. The Dublin High School Homecoming 2012 theme is “Cereals”, with each class competing for coveted Homecoming points:
- DHS Class of 2013 Seniors: ”Lucky Charms”
- DHS Class of 2014 Juniors: ”Captain Crunch”
- DHS Class of 2015 Sophomores: ”Fruity Pebbles”
- DHS Class of 2016 Freshmen: “Wheaties”
Dublin High School Homecoming Schedule 2012
Dublin High Homecoming kicks off Monday October 8 and concludes on Saturday October 13 with the Homecoming dance. There are events every day giving all students a chance to participate. Several events including the Homecoming parade, carnival and football game are open to the community. The Dublin High School PFSO has prepared a “Homecoming for Dummies” guide available here. Below is a full breakdown of planned events:
Monday 10/8/2012
- Pajama Day (tallies taken before school by the Trees in front of the Library)
- Dance Tickets on sale before school, at lunch, and after school in Student Activities
- Full Dress Rehearsal for all Skits in Sports Complex: Freshmen 6-7 p.m.; Sophomores 7-8 p.m.; Juniors 8-9 p.m.; Seniors 9-10 p.m. (bring copies of script/list of participants)
Tuesday 10/9/2012
- Country Club Day (tallies taken before school by the Trees in front of the Library)
- Homecoming Elections before school, lunch, & after school by Trees in front of Library
- Dance Tickets on sale before school, at lunch, and after school in Student Activities
- Lunchtime Competitions for Homecoming Points by Trees in front of Library
Wednesday 10/10/2012
- Area Decorations (5:30-7:30 a.m.): areas listed above

- Car Show at Lunch (Blacktop behind Gymnasium near Tennis Courts)
Thursday 10/11/2012
- Spirit Shirt (Color) Dress Up Day (tallies before school by Trees in front of Library)

- Final Carnival Meeting for all Clubs/Volunteers in Little Theatre @ 7:30 a.m.
- Lunchtime Dodge Ball Competition for Homecoming Points in Gymnasium
- Float Construction (Blacktop behind gym/near tennis courts, 3-7:30 p.m.)
- Skit Rally (Sports Complex, 8:00 p.m.) – open to families ($5 for adults, $3 for elementary and middle school students)
Friday 10/12/2012
- Gael Force “Game Day” Dress-Up (tallies before school by Trees in front of Library)
- Dance Tickets on sale before school, at lunch, and after school in Student Activities
- Parade (Parkway Fellowship Church to Dublin Swim Center, 3:45 p.m.) – open to the community
- Carnival (Next to Varsity Baseball Field, 4:00-7:00 p.m) - open to the community ($5 for students, $8 for everyone else)
- Football Game (Junior Varsity-4:30 p.m.; Varsity-7:00 p.m.) - open to the community
- Alumni Tailgate Barbecue (Football Stadium-South End Zone, 5:00-8:00 p.m.)
- Crowning of Senior Queen (Halftime of Varsity game) - open to the community
Saturday 10/13/2012
- Homecoming Dance in the new Dublin High Student Union (7:30-10:30 p.m.) UPDATE: The Homecoming Dance will be on the DHS campus, not the Stager Gym
